4 Easy Ways to Drink More Water
Did you know that nearly 80% of Americans don’t think they’re drinking enough water?
I’m the first to admit, I’m definitely one of those people.
But after several self-induced headaches and feeling like I was going to faint from a lack of hydration, I finally decided to make a change and prioritize my water intake.
Why? Because the benefits that come from drinking sufficient water are endless. Some that are most important to me include:
Clear skin/improved complexion
Increased energy
Reduction of headaches
Improved immune system
Removal of toxins from the body
Prevention of cramps
Improvement to mood
Decline in muscle soreness
Are you still struggling to drink enough H2O? Here are the 4 tricks that finally helped me stay dedicated to getting hydrated:
1. A cute water bottle
Silly, I know. But the truth is, and I’m speaking from personal experience, if your water bottle goes with your vibe you’re 10x more likely to carry it around. So treat yourself to a cute water bottle that fits your persona and you’ll be more inclined to bring it with you everywhere. Thankfully, the market for aesthetically pleasing water bottles is sort of a trend right now so I’m sure you can find one that fits your fancy. My favs right now are Hydro Flask and Simple Modern.
2. The power of apps
If you have a serious water drinking problem it might be time to download an app for some extra assistance. Don’t worry there are so many free ones that can help you track the amount of water you’ve had throughout the day, send friendly reminders to keep you on track, and help you to hold yourself accountable.
3. Set rules & stick to them
Set some guidelines for yourself. Physically writing them down can really help.
Here are some “rules” I implemented for myself":
Drink one cup of water when I wake up
Drink one cup of water before every meal
Drink one cup of water before I get in the shower
4. Drink tea
I am a true tea fanatic (5 cups a day on average). Thankfully my tea addiction has unintentionally increased my water consumption. If you’re struggling to get in enough water because of the bland taste of water, tea could be your savior.
I hope these tips are helpful. Now go drink another glass of water 😉
