Free At Home Workouts

As more and more gyms and studios have closed their doors in effort to curb the coronavirus outbreak, people are forced to get creative with their workouts. Although a lack of access to equipment can make maintaining your fitness goals a challenge, thankfully there are so many ways to remain active within the comfort of your own home! Especially with access to technology, fitness inspo is at the touch of our finger tips and as the impacts of COVID-19 are becoming increasingly long lasting, many influencers and studios have generously offered free workouts. Here are some of my favs:

Instagram accounts with great at home workouts:

Studios currently offering at home workouts, no membership required:

  • Core Power is offering free on demand videos so you keep up your flow at home.

  • Barry’s is live-streaming three total-body workouts a day on Instagram.

  • Rumble is doing tons of Instagram Lives on their story and then they save the work outs to their feed.

  • Orange Theory Fitness is also launching at-home workouts on its website.

Free fitness apps:

  • Peloton is currently offering a free 90-day trial, no Peloton equipment required and no credit card info needed.

  • Nike Training app has tons of free workouts, from yoga to full body HIIT to core circuits and more.

Feeling bored at home? Try out one (or more) of these daily challenges and see how you improve over the next few weeks:

  • Push ups (3 sets of 10)

  • 100 squats

  • 3-5 minute plank

  • 100 jumping jacks

  • Tricep dips (3 sets of 10)

Similar to how I keep my recipe posts short and don’t include unnecessary commentary, I wanted to provide the fitness information you came looking for upfront. But it doesn’t feel right to make this post without calling out the following:

It is so incredibly important that we all do our part and practice social distancing at this time. Regardless if you do not think you are at risk, it is imperative that we all shelter in place for the foreseeable future. It is an incredibly terrifying moment in history we are living through and it is crucial that we all take action now. Because resources are finite, we must social distance ourselves in effort to flatten the curve. The time is now to think about the bigger picture, not just the inconveniences to your personal “world”.

Remember, if one of your biggest concerns right now is not being able to do your normal workout routine, you are so incredibly blessed.

Don’t take anything for granted. Be kind to one another. Call a loved one today. Be patient. Learn something new. Take care of yourself. We’re in this together.
